Housing, Travel and Safety

Paz y Esperanza will place volunteers in safe lodgings near where they work, ideally with host families.

A staff member will meet the volunteer when they arrive. We are committed to our volunteers´ safety and will not expose them to unnecessary and avoidable dangers. Paz y Esperanza urges volunteers to be aware of possible risks associated with international travel and living.

Cost

The application fee for the short term programs is $50.00 and $100.00 for the long term volunteer programs. Payment can be made online via PayPal. This fee is non refundable, but will be applied to other program fees for those who participate in the program.

The short term program costs will vary based on the place of service and the timeframe.. Please contact us for more exact figures on your desired program.

The short term program fee includes transportation from airport to place of service, housing, food, orientation course, contribution to project where you volunteer and administrative costs.

Each volunteer should budget additional spending money each month as the program does not cover costs such as telephone, internet, personal hygiene products, additional transportation, etc. The volunteer will also be responsible for travel from and to country of origin, travel or health insurance, vacations taken while volunteering, passport or visa fees, etc.

ANDEMOS offers several partial scholarships each year. Priority will be given to those who are originally from or currently reside in Latin American countries and whose financial situation would otherwise prevent their.

Orientation Course

An orientation course will kick off each program to introduce the volunteers to the program, Paz y Esperanza and a bit of the context. This time of sharing and exploration will allow the volunteers to get to know each other and explore topics relevant to their upcoming service experience such as Latin America's church, history, culture and politics and the spirituality of service.
