Holistic Transformation in Ecuador

What is holistic transformation and how do we live it out?  Come find out in Guayaquil!  Paz y Esperanza Ecuador has a lot to share about their participation in holistic mission, which involves caring for the whole person and meeting physical, spiritual, emotional, social, and psychological needs of others.

On this trip, you can learn about their work in and among evangelical churches, communities, and vulnerable populations through site visits, conversations, and experience.  However, you will not only learn; you and your team will serve alongside Paz y Esperanza staff in holistic care of victims of abuse, support of prevention campaigns in schools, and the promotion of community involvement.  Whether you know a lot or a little about holistic transformation, you and your team can be an encouragement and immense support to the Paz team and to all the people whom they serve!

As a team, you could…

  • Learn from the dedicated workers of Paz y Esperanza and their work in Guayaquil through site visits, group talks, and conversations.
  • Help in small-scale home improvement projects in the neighborhoods of women and children who are served by Paz y Esperanza
  • Promote community involvement in local evangelical churches through visits and participation in a “Service Day” in which you and your team work alongside church members responding to needs in the community.
  • Participate in recreational activities
  • Support health campaigns and empowerment efforts among populations affected by HIV/AIDS with a local partner organization (http://www.fundacionagustintomala.org/).

The actual activities of your team will determined according to the interests and experiences of the group and the needs of the office.  As a team, you will be accompanied by an Andemos team member throughout your time in Ecuador.  You will fly into and leave out of Guayaquil.  For a detailed day-to-day itinerary or more information, please contact us

Leya’s Story

“Volunteering in Guayaquil has enabled me to be a part of God´s redeeming work and to participate in His Justice.  The Andemos program and the Ecuador office have graciously allowed me to participate in this restoration and reconciliation work, in which I can truly say that I am a pazeña (peacemaker as we call ourselves) who is passionate about justice.”
